Taylor Law Welcome Kishwar Hanif – Employment Solicitor

We are pleased to announce an addition to our employment law team as we are joined by Kishwar Hanif

Kishwar is an Employment Solicitor at Taylor Law, committed to helping clients achieve the best possible outcomes in their workplace matters. She combines strong case experience with genuine passion and determination, always ready to stand up and fight for her clients.

During her training contract, Kishwar was involved in the landmark Supreme Court case Tesco Stores Ltd v USDAW [2024] UKSC 28, which challenged Tesco’s controversial “fire and rehire” strategy. The case focused on the meaning of “permanent” in employment contracts and ended in an important victory for the Claimants—giving Kishwar invaluable insight into complex, high-profile litigation.

Kishwar is approachable, client-focused, and actively engaged in the wider employment law community. She is a member of the Employment Law Society and contributes to the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA) Working Parties, helping shape ongoing legal reform.

Outside of work, Kishwar loves being outdoors in nature, travelling to new places, and tracking down great street food.

Keep an eye on our blog for Kishwar’s updates on the Employment Rights Bill as it moves through Parliament—an evolving area of law with real impact for both employees and employers.

A Thankful Police Office Writes

Mr. Chris Bennett
Chartered Legal Executive
Taylor Law

Dear Chris,

I am writing to express my deepest thanks and appreciation for the outstanding support, guidance, and expertise you have
provided over the past four years.

Since you were recommended to me by the local Police Federation in 2020, you have been a constant source of knowledge,
reassurance, and professionalism. Your advice and representation in matters relating to Employment Tribunal proceedings
(unlawful discrimination), Ill-Health Retirement (IHR), Injury on Duty (IOD), and most recently the Regulation 12 IOD
award, have been instrumental in achieving successful outcomes at every stage.

Your ability to clearly explain complex legal processes, your dedication to seeing each matter through with integrity and
determination, and your genuine support have made a significant difference during some particularly challenging times. I am
incredibly grateful for all you have done.

You are not only a highly skilled legal professional but also someone who truly understands and supports the work of the
Police Federation. Your down-to-earth approach, combined with your expert knowledge, has been invaluable.

I would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone in need of legal support, and I will always be thankful for your work on
my behalf.

With sincere appreciation,
A Thankful Police Office

Taylor Law

Taylor Law is a nationally recognised firm of solicitors offering a wide range of legal services, with offices in Stokesley, Leeds, and London.

We last caught up with them in June 2022, shortly after their arrival at the Terry Dicken Business Park. This time, I spoke with Mel Broadbent to find out what’s changed since then.

Experts with heart

“Taylor Law is a busy, fast-paced firm—and a genuinely lovely place to work,” Mel says. “In fact, it feels more like a big family than a company. We support each other as a team, which allows us to stay flexible and meet our clients’ needs efficiently.”

Moreover, the firm works with federations across the UK, so the team regularly switches between office-based, hybrid, and face-to-face work. This flexibility helps them deliver an extensive range of legal services to both businesses and individuals.

Key services include:

  • Employment Law
  • Wills and Probate
  • Civil Disputes
  • Personal Injury
  • Criminal/Motoring Law
  • Regulatory Matters
  • Pension Law
  • Police Law

Location fuels growth

“Our move to Stokesley has been a great success,” Mel explains. “Since opening here, we’ve expanded our team. Although we didn’t expect much footfall being on a business park, people regularly call in. As a result, the location has definitely boosted enquiries, and that’s helping drive our growth.”

Employment law packages

In addition, Taylor Law is currently developing tailored employment law retainer packages for business clients. Ideal for companies of all sizes seeking quick, dependable legal advice.

Therefore the firm plans to pilot the scheme with nearby business park clients, addressing common issues like settlement agreements, redundancies, dismissals, and workplace adjustments related to health conditions. With strong experience in employment matters, including referrals from insurance companies, the team is well-positioned to deliver effective, responsive support.

Wills, Trusts & Probate

Since moving to the Terry Dicken Business Park, Taylor Law has seen a sharp rise in demand for Wills, Trusts, and Probate services. To meet this growing need, the firm is expanding the department and actively recruiting new team members.

To clarify, in UK law, a will outlines someone’s wishes for how their estate should be distributed after death. A trust, on the other hand, allows assets—like property—to be transferred with greater control either during or after a person’s lifetime. Given the rising interest in both services, Taylor Law is investing in building a strong, forward-looking team.

Subsequently, you can find details about current vacancies for Wills, Trusts & Probate and Employment Law solicitors on their website.

Committed to excellence

Taylor Law holds a number of industry-recognised accreditations that reflect their dedication to quality, professionalism, and integrity.

“Clients are in safe hands with us,” Mel says. “For example, we’re accredited by Lexcel, the Law Society’s gold standard for practice management, which recognises exceptional client care, compliance, and risk management.”

Additionally, the firm is a nationally recognised authority on police pensions and works closely with the Police Federation of England and Wales. Their strong track record with insurance-referred cases has led to panel solicitor appointments with several insurers. On top of that, Taylor Law consistently earns five-star reviews on Trustpilot.

Work made easy

Customer reviews are a powerful reflection of trust, quality, and long-term value. With that in mind, I asked Mel how she feels about working at the Terry Dicken Business Park.

“We’d absolutely recommend it,” she says. “Besides being in a great location, the park is very well maintained. Whenever issues arise, such as problems with the building, they get resolved quickly. Furthermore, we’re surrounded by great businesses. We can pop over to Direct Business Supplies for stationery, head to HFC for IT support, or walk over to First Steps Day Care. Our team also enjoys visiting The Colour Haus, Hunter’s Raw, and of course, TK’s Café. Overall, it’s a really convenient and enjoyable place to work.”
