Case Manager for our Employment & Pension Team

Chris is a case manager within our Employment/Pension team at our London office advising on a broad range of regulatory, employment, civil and public law matters. Chris has an honest approach and outstanding ability to break down complex regulatory issues into a language that can be understood by his clients giving piece of mind to what can be very traumatic and stressful situations.

As one of the country’s leading practitioners in ill-health retirement and injury pension matters, Chris is highly regarded for his work for the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFED), regularly appearing at the Police Medical Appeal Boards on behalf of officers and former officers. He often represents those with psychiatric injuries, post- traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Chris was part of the team who successfully orchestrated a large group action on behalf of 80 claimants in a case concerning Regulation 37 pension reviews, following the Court of Appeal decision in Laws v PMAB case pmab/judgement-in-the-case-of-belinda-laws-v-the-police-medical-appeals-board-2009/ resulting in the restoration of injury awards for all former Metropolitan police injury pensioner claimants to their previous levels, resulting in payments of approximately £4 million in back pension and interest.

He regularly works with the Police Federation giving training to its members across the country on ill-health retirement and injury awards.
